Linden Schaffer took the plunge in November 2009 and left her 9 to 5 to start her own business. She could not be happier! For the prior 15 years, she worked in every sector of the New York fashion industry. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in International Trade and Marketing which enable her to have a successful career working for various companies and designers including: Gen Art, Trosman, Trina Turk, Versace, Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg. “I can successfully execute a Bryant Park fashion show, help emerging designers meet key industry influencers, sell a clothing/accessory line during market week and train employees how to sell merchandise once it hits the sales floor.”
Everything changed in 2009 when Linden launched Pravassa, a healthy travel company. Her first group trip was for 60 people to Argentina for her wedding. Everything fell into place after that. Pravassa’s goal is to provide its customers relaxing travel destinations around the globe where they can participate in healthy activities as well as experience the local culture. Yoga, pilates, massage, nutrition counseling and more are what you’ll experience on Pravassa’s healthy vacations. “Whether you’re in the jungles of Nicaragua or the beaches of Thailand, Pravassa wants to make sure you’re taking care of your body, mind and soul”.
During her corporate career Linden lived to travel during her vacation time, but did not want to sacrifice parts of her daily routine such as exercise and eating healthy. “The economic downtown of 08/09 was horrendous on my wholesale numbers and in speaking with clients and shoppers, most everyone was stockpiling their money to save on ‘experiences’ rather than material possessions”. Living in NYC Linden know first hand how stressful the 9 to 5 can be, so she wanted to offer her contemporaries the opportunity to get away in a preplanned group setting with like minded people looking to relax.
